About me – Your host in the heart of St. Martin
My name is David Philipp – and I am a host with a passion.
From an early age, I knew that I wanted to offer people a place where they could arrive, breathe freely and simply feel comfortable.
After my training as a hotel specialist, valuable years in the hotel industry and further training as a business administrator, I took the step into self-employment in 2021 and opened the Grüner Baum guesthouse in
St. Martin taken over.
Here you will not find an anonymous hotel, but a personal retreat – run with heart, genuine commitment and attention to detail.
St. Martin, one of the most beautiful wine villages in the Palatinate, is not just a location for me, but a piece of home that I like to share with my guests.

We were 3 couples and stayed at the guesthouse at the end of September.
Super friendly welcome, room ready and spotlessly clean, nothing was lacking. Even the fridge was stocked with delicious bottles of wine from the surrounding vineyards for us guests, and of course water too, and beer drinkers weren't forgotten!
Breakfast in the charmingly rustic restaurant was beautifully presented. Fresh eggs were served piping hot at the table. Wonderful and impeccable. The location is, of course, excellent and right in the heart of things. And for warm vacation days, the covered outdoor seating area is definitely worth a visit!
